I believe Ricardo Tisci is the most talented young designer who works for such an amazing top design house like Givenchy.
His theme for spirng-summer couture collection 2008 was “Gothic Ballerina”, but I might add that applies only for the first part of the show. The second part of the runway presentation resembled more with Edgar Degas’s sculpture “The little dancing girl” due to the inocent look of the models and the fine cut of the outfits.
I love his collection, and I predict an up and raising carrier.

The new shoe collection signed Giuseppe Zanotti Design is inspired by rock couture trend. Some marvelous wedges shoes coloured in fuchsia, gold, brown or yellow, and of course very elegant satin high-heels especially created for sofisticated women.
Altought is pretty difficult to walk wearing such high platforms, I guess I could try on a pair to see how it fits on the leg, and keep it in my shoe collection. My choice: violet pair of shoes with gold embelishements.

Yesterday, 2 May, Yves Saint Laurent passed away. It was such a sad day for the entire fashion world. I could barely wrote a news annoucing his death. He did such amazing things for the woman as we see her today. He was one of the kings of the fashion scene. Now he’s gone… too quickly.
I found a Vogue issue dated march 1956, in witch Yves Saint Laurent was spotted the new ‘en vogue’ designer from Paris:
“showing none of the too-pretty, fussy details that one might have expected from a young designer”. His “trapeze like” designs are devoted to the flared, bell shape, with wide hemlines”.
The cover of this issue professes that “green remains one of the most wearable colours”. Full page advertisements (many of which are for lingerie and corsets, emphasising the importance of a clinched waist at this time), dominate the magazine until the contents, which isn’t until page 117.
I also discovered today in Vanity Fair, an amazing pictorial featuring Blake Lively the protagonist of Gossip Girl series.
I find amazing the 33-pound Swarovski-crystal-encrusted satin gown by Dior features 6,000 sequins—handstitched with gold thread. It’s such a great piece of art, more than a dress surpasing the bonds of fashion.

What do you think of these hats created by Soren Bach? I think they are so bright and colourfull. A bit too much for spring-summer but great for a carnival show.
First hat could launch a new trend for motorcycle fans during the winter.

Max Chaoul is the French designer behind some of the prettiest and most joyful gowns that a bride could ever wish to wear.
Max Chaoul started it’s business 11 years ago and he has a showroom in Paris.
Other boutiques are located throughout Europe and the United States, including Paris, London, Marseilles, New York and Beverly Hills.
I love his dynamic creations, the touch of elegance and I confess I never been so amazed by a collection since Elie Saab’s F/W ‘08-’09 runway.

“Couture in Bloom” in the name of an amazing photoshoot by Karl Lagerfeld for Harper’s Bazaar. The photos are so beautifull and the imagination has no limit. Excellent work!

Look of the week
The look of the week: classy, elegant, romantic, marvelous… from Valentino Couture Show F/W 2008.

As I mentioned before Couture Fashion Show from New York gather the most talented designers all over the world.
I was very surprised to find out about Haya Al Houti a proeminent designer from Kuwait, recognized for her beautiful bridal and evening gowns.
Haya al Houti bridal dresses are simply amazing. I’ve seen many bridal gowns recently, but Haya al Houti creations are simply stunning. Her creations are breathtaking combinations of the finest satins, sliks, chiffon, organza, tull and lace with rich beading and jeweled embellishments.
Not to mention her clientele includes an array of Saudi Arabian and Qatarian princesses as well as prestigious dignitaries, socialites and VIPs throughout the Middle East.
This is a perfect example of a mix between two different cultures, the middle east one and the occidental one, bond together by fashion.
